Transparency and Openness in Animal Research

Our research relies almost totally on animal use. Celphedia signed the French Transparency charter on the use of animals for scientific and regulatory purposes implemented by GIRCOR, the French interprofessional research think tank and communication group, bringing together the biological or medical research institutions in France.

" We will be clear about when, how and why we use animals in research "

Celphedia also subscribes and supports Basel declaration, aiming to strengthen public awareness of the importance of animal models in experimental biomedical research, to foster communication between researchers and the public, and to enhance acceptance of the Basel Declaration. Like the  Icon Helsinki declaration (46.4 KB) , which forever altered the ethical landscape of human clinical research, the aim of the «Basel Declaration Society» is to bring the scientific community together to further advance the implementation of ethical principles such as the 3Rs whenever animals are being used in research

" Every day, we do respect, as sensitive beings, animals we are working with "

"Good animal care and good science go hand in hand".

(National Institutes of Health (U.S.). Animal Research Committee)

Celphedia is committed to ensuring better transparency by informing on current research and by giving the opportunity to understand the place of the animal models in scientific and biomedical research's progresses, and finally by explaining the conditions under which animal research is practiced.

" We will enhance our communications with the media and public; We will be proactive in providing opportunities for the public to learn about animal research;  We will report annually on our experiences and share practices "

Celphedia has adopted a Icon charter for open science (246.9 KB) , in line with international calls supported in France by the Law for a digital Republic (2016) and the national plan for open science (2018), acting the ambition of its partners to make the results of science FAIR-ly accessible.

"We’ll make our scientific publications freely available (in full text as far as possible) on our website or via platforms dedicated to open science, such as HAL or ArXiv."

"We’ll make the data and models generated in the infrastructure available, as far as possible, to the national and international scientific community via databases and archives of experimental animal models."

"We’ll support the objectives of the French center for 3Rs (FC3R) and its vision to promote alternative methods and strengthen the 3Rs."
